Roxbury – Dellbrook One Way, a joint venture comprised of Dellbrook|JKS and the Roxbury-based minority business enterprise, One Way Development, celebrated the ribbon-cutting of a new campus for the Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (Franklin Cummings Tech, FCT), designed by Studio G Architects. The ceremony was held on January 22nd, 2026 with the project team, Mayor Michelle Wu, FCT students and staff, including President and CEO at FCT, Dr. Aisha Francis were all in attendance.

Located in Nubian Square, the 68,000 square foot campus houses FCT’s technical and trade programs. The first level contains a lobby, robotics lab, opticianry space, an automotive technology center, a courtyard, and a bike room, while the second and third floor features student services, classrooms, shared study areas, student pantry, and specialized labs. The campus also features a roof-top outdoor learning lab for students to observe and engage directly with the building’s HVAC systems, photovoltaic panels, and roof-mounted wind turbines.

Before starting work on this three-story academic facility, site preparation required the demolition of a long-vacant warehouse. Construction of FCT’s steel-framing began in March 2024,

Kyle Brunelle, Project Manager at Dellbrook|JKS shared, “Over the past two years, Dellbrook|JKS has been proud to partner with Franklin Cummings Tech, Leggat McCall Properties, and Studio G to create a new home for FCT students. Engaging students through trainings and site tours throughout the construction process—and now seeing them enjoy their new space—has been incredibly rewarding. It’s especially meaningful to know the college is preparing students to succeed in their chosen fields, including our industry of construction management.”

FCT’s new campus represents a significant investment in affordable, career-focused higher education through the collective support of government, industry partners, financial intuitions, and philanthropic organizations. The building officially opened for the 2026 Spring semester, allowing students to benefit from a modern, an innovative learning environment designed to prepare them for in-demand careers while strengthening the greater community.
