The Artis Senior Living project in Reading, MA is a 64 bed assisted living facility specializing in patients with memory loss. The two-story steel framed 36,125 SF structure was constructed on a 2.14 acre site. The building was designed and constructed to have a center core area on each floor and resident wing areas on either side of the core. The first floor resident wings include a dining room, family room, pantry, laundry and screened porch area. The first floor core area provides program services, a community center, employee lounge, main kitchen, food storage and staff offices. The second floor resident wings mimics the first floor resident wings but the core area has a barber/beauty shop, health center, ice cream parlor, café and studio.

The exterior of the building features architectural composition shingles, pre-finished aluminum facias and gutters with staggered shingle edge paneling, raised panel shutters, vinyl windows, cement fiber trim and columns and an aluminum clad screened porch system. The site improvements consisted of a stacked precast retaining wall at the rear of the site with wood fencing and lattice above, walking trails with turf grass areas, raised planters, new landscaping, porous pavers and decorative site lighting and a monument sign.
