The Emery Rice Hall & Maritime Conference Center project at Massachusetts Maritime Academy consisted of demolishing an existing structure to make room for the new construction of a 31,000 sf, three-story structure. The new building has a structural steel and concrete ground floor, with wood framing on the two upper floors. Its first floor includes meeting rooms, a prep kitchen, and a large conference/meeting room, while the upper level houses 34 cadet dorm rooms. Designed with sustainability in mind, the project is also LEED certified.
