Edgartown Fire Station
The Edgartown Fire Station project represents a major investment in the town’s public safety infrastructure, replacing the outdated and undersized facility originally built in 1966. Following site preparation and demolition of the existing station, a new 16,500 square foot steel and wood framed building will be constructed on the same site. Designed in a village-style architectural concept, the facility will feature four interconnected structures unified by a low-profile roof, blending seamlessly with Edgartown’s traditional character. A temporary tent will be installed on vacant adjacent vacant cemetery land to serve as an operating center during construction.
The new fire station will significantly enhance operational capabilities with expanded apparatus and ambulance bays, dedicated training areas, and modern support spaces. Purpose-built to meet the needs of a contemporary fire department, the facility will provide improved functionality, efficiency, and safety for first responders and the community they serve.
