The Elmwood project in Shrewsbury involved the new construction of two three-story residential buildings built to Passive House standards. The completed development provides a total of 93 mixed-income apartments across both wood-framed, slab-on-grade structures, along with on-site surface parking.

Building 1 spans 70,221 SF and contains 33 residential units as well as all of the community’s shared amenity spaces. Building 2, totaling 40,719 SF, houses the remaining 60 apartment units. Together, the two buildings offer sustainable, energy-efficient housing for a diverse resident population. The project features numerous resident amenities including a playground, dog park, fire pits, and outdoor gathering spaces. In preparation for construction on the 9-acre site, Dellbrook|JKS and its partners performed extensive sitework including rock removal, retaining wall installation, soil replacement, and utility tie-ins to support the 111,000 SF residential complex.
