The two-story, steel structure that will house Vineyard Wind’s Operations and Maintenance facility, totals 15,000 SF and features an 18” slab-on-deck, atop a concrete podium. With harsh winters and sandy island soil, 120’ steel piles will support the building throughout any season on the Vineyard. A large warehouse, locker room, canteen, and shop spaces will be housed on the building’s first level. On the second floor, the building includes mezzanine house offices, meeting spaces, and communal workstations. Its envelope consists of a standing seam metal roof, Hardie siding with cedar accents, PVC trim, and Anderson windows. Parking, contained under the facility’s podium, allows more room for a long driveway which leads to a rear loading dock.
